Zikarown Say’fer
Memorial Scroll
Preface
Zikarown Say’fer, memorial book as in Exodus
17:14, is a version of the Scriptures meant to bring
out the ancient language intricacies that have been
lost in modern translations. Zikarown is the
transliteration of the Hebrew word for memorial or
rehearsal. The Scriptures are meant to be
rehearsed as instruction on the path to eternal life.
hwhy is the Bora Paleo-Hebrew representation
of the Sacred Name of our Father Yahweh. Many
books have been written on the pronunciation of
heavenly Father’s Name, yet the most accepted
pronunciation has to be Yahweh.
uSwhy is the Bora Paleo-Hebrew
representation of the beloved Mashiyach Yah’shua
or Yahushua. Like the Father’s name there have
been many books written on the pronunciation of
the savior’s name. Yah’shua means “Yahweh is
Salvation”. Yahushua means “Yahweh will be
Salvation”. The pronunciation of the savior’s name
is disputed among the assemblies yet the fact
remains that the meaning has always been clear.
Yeshua (uwSy) is also found in the Scriptures
most notably in Ezra and Nehemiah. Yeshua
means “He is Salvation”. uwSy is perhaps the
shortened version of Yah’shua mostly used after the
Babylonian exile.
The Name hwhy is restored throughout the
entire Bible. In the Old Testament the Hebrew text
was used along with the Englishman’s
Concordance to find the many places that
translators took liberty to remove the Name. The
133 places where the Sopherim altered the Name
hwhy to either Adonay or Elohim have been
restored. Restoration of the titles throughout the
Scriptures is to help the reader better understand
who is being referenced. Elohim, El, Eloah, and
Adonay have been restored as the transliteration of
the titles found in the Hebrew Massoretic texts.
The 133 places where the Sopherim altered
Yahweh to Adonay are restored in the Zikarown
Say’fer. A listing of the 133 places follows:
Genesis 18:3,27,30,32; 19:18; 20:4. Exodus

9:3,4,7,9,15,16,17,19,19,19. Amos 5:16; 7:7,8; 9:1.

Massorah §§ 107-15, Ginsburg's edition.
The New Testament was much more difficult in
that currently the oldest known manuscripts of the
New Testament are Greek. The standard by which
the Name hwhy is restored in the New Testament
is through the following rules as presented by
Brother Michael Banak.
1. If there is an Old Testament quote in the
New Testament, the names and titles will be
restored as they appear in the Old
Testament. This rule over-rules all other
rules.
2. When 'kurios' stands alone in the Greek,
with no definite article in front of it, it will be
rendered as the Name, Yahweh.
3. When 'kurios' is preceded by a definite
article meaning 'the', then it will be rendered
as a title, 'Master' or 'Sovereign.' When it is
clearly understood that the one referred to is
Yahweh the Father, the title 'Sovereign' will
be used.
4. If 'theos' is preceded by a definite article, it is
taken as a title. Thus it will properly be
rendered as 'The Mighty One' or 'The
Almighty.'
5. If 'theos' is not preceded by a definite article,
it is taken to be the Name Yahweh.
6. If Either the Shem Tob or the du Tillet texts
of Matthew give evidence of Yahweh's
Name, the Name will be inserted.
7. If a parallel passage in Mark, Luke or John
is found to have the Name in the
corresponding passage in the Hebrew
Matthew, the Name will be carried over to
the verse in Mark, Luke or John as
appropriate.
The rules 4 and 5 were applied by the Jehovah
Witnesses across more than 20 manuscripts and a
chart of the places that match these rules are found
in “The Tetragrammaton and the Christian Greek
Scriptures” Appendix A.
Zikarown Say’fer is meant to be copy of the
Scriptures for the student of the Word of hwhy.
The bulk of the text in this version is based on
American Standard Version. I pray that it helps in
