1 The resort was gorgeous with a beautiful sandy beach. The trouble was everything cost a fortunę. Restaurants, . excursions ( windsurfing, jetskis, they had everything, but basically we did nothing at all because we couldn't afford it. After two days we were broke, so we just ate sandwiches after that and watched everyone else enjoying themselves. was when i soer: a week : " Canaca. What we did was ... every afterrocn we went up in a Harvard jet and you fly around looking for other jets. When you see one, you try to get it in your sights, you puli the trigger and fire - it's a kind of laser. If you manage to hit another piane, you hear this noise and you can see smoke. It was great, brilliant fun, but I could never afford to do it again. NI never forget it - it was absolutely fantastic! 7 7 7 2 I was dead by the end of it. I'd always wanted to go, so I thought !'d better make the most of it. We didn't do much during the day because we had to catch up on our sleep, but in the evenings we saw three musicals and then went dubbing to a different place every night. Terrific! I can't wait to get back. 8 I was on holiday once in the Bahamas and I saw an advertisement for an excursion - 'Swim with the sharks' it said. I didn't really believe it, but I thought it was an incredible idea. Anyway, two days later I found myself on a boat with a group of other people. We put on scuba diving gear and a special kind of protection thing for the arms and then jumped in. The sharks arrived and there we were swimming with the sharks, playing with them - they came right up and touched us. To begin with I thought I would die, but then it was so peaceful, so beautiful - a totally amazing experience! Brilliant! 8 3 Yes, absolutely brilliant. The hotel was a high-rise dump; they hadirt even finished buiiding it. The food was wonderful if you like raw eggs for breakfast, and the service was as friendly as you could expect from a prison camp. It was the perfect destination for your worst enemy. 4 When we got to the check-in they told us there would be a slight delay. Six hours later we fi na My got on to an ancient piane, and when we were airborne, I just closed my eyes and prayed. When we arrived, we were too late for the train and, in any case, our baggage had got lost somewhere. A few years ago, me and a friend of mine spent a week in the Canadian Arctic. One day we were taken out in a smali submarine which took us under the ice. Just being under the water is strange enough. It was really dark, but we had big lights which lit everything up - weird fish, and one time something that looked like a shark, but I don't think it was. Then we came to this wreck - an old ship that had gone down over a hundred years ago. It was scary, but at the same time I thought, wow, this is just like too much. 9 9 5 On the first day, we went down to the restaurant and it was disgusting. Some kind of revclting raw fish with a spicy sauce, ugh! So for the rest of the time we decided to check out other-places in the town where we were really spoilt for choice. There were the most amazihg places, and we couldn't wait for dinner time to arrive. 6 The funny thing is that although it was freezing, I got really sunburnt. There had been heavy snowfalls just before we got there, so conditions were tremendous. We couldn't have hoped for anything better. I just wish it had been the same last year. Last summer I was in Russia and I was taken to an airbase just outside Moscow. There were two of us and this Russian guy and we got in a MiG-25. Take off was more like blast off, this * thing was going at Mach 2, thafs nearly fifteen hundred kilometres an hour, and it really hurts, it's hard to breathe and your head hurts, but then you look out of the window, and there it is. Planet Earth, just like in some film on the TV or something, and you think, God, thafs just, just out-of-this-world. 10 10 [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ] |
